Pain management injections we offer

All injections at our Calgary Blackfoot clinic are performed under image guidance using ultrasound or fluoroscopy.

Steroid injections

Examples: shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, wrist, elbow, small joints of hand and foot.

Examples: tendons, tendon sheaths, plantar fascia, and similar structures.

Examples: subacromial (shoulder), trochanteric (hip), and similar bursa.

Other injection therapies

Hyaluronic acid injection

An injection of a gel like substance into a joint, sometimes used in the management of osteoarthritis. May be billed to private insurance, employer benefits, or paid out of pocket.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP)

A treatment that uses a concentrated preparation of a patient’s own blood platelets, injected into a target area. May be billed to private insurance, employer benefits, or paid out of pocket.

What we don’t offer We do not currently offer spinal injections (facet joint, nerve root, or medial branch blocks), nerve blocks, or radiofrequency ablation. If your physician has referred you for one of these procedures, please contact us so we can help direct you to an appropriate clinic.

The steroid medication is provided at no cost to patients. Most procedure visits are billed to Alberta Health.

Our Clinic is located at 8500 Blackfoot Trail SE, Suite 260, Calgary, AB T2J 7EL. We are in the Meadows Mile Professional Building, beside Starbucks. The building is accessible from Blackfoot Trail SE.

Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our clinic wheelchair is accessible, with accessible parking on site. If you need additional accommodations for your visit, please call us in advance and we will arrange them.

Is there a cost for parking?

No. Underground and surface parking is available on site at no cost to patients. When you arrive, give your license plate number to our receptionist upstairs and we will validate your parking. Do not pay at the parking machine.

Yes. A signed physician requisition is required for all pain management injections. We accept requisitions from any physician, including family doctors, specialists, walk in clinics, and hospitals.

How do I book an appointment?

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring your signed physician requisition, your provincial health card, a piece of government issued photo ID, and any relevant insurance information. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork.

How long does an injection appointment take?

The injection itself usually takes a few minutes. With check in, preparation, and a brief observation period after the injection, plan to be at the clinic for approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Our team will share specific timing when you book.
